Prayer request update

Here's an update on my sisters' mother-in-law: She made it through the night on Sunday much to the doctors' surprise. However, they only give her a few more days given the seriousness of the infection and her prior physical condition.  She does not appear to be suffering. I do need to make one correction, though.  My brother-in-law's family is not Buddhist but more Confucianist/Chinese ancestor worship.  For some this is only cultural, but for others it is a very real belief. Thus for his mother to say she believes in Jesus is a clear break with cultural and family tradition. My brother-in-law and sister are comforted that his mom has put her faith in Christ.  When it's time, she will go home.  They are praying this will be an opportunity to share the hope they have in Christ. Thank you so much for praying.  They appreciate your prayers very much.

My sister's mother-in-law, who is suffering from Alzheimer's, has been hospitalized with sepsis.  She seemed fine when they saw her yesterday, but they received word today that she had been hospitalized.  She was admitted for severe low blood pressure but subsequent tests revealed the sepsis.  She is a believer. Please pray for God's mercy and that this would be an opportunity to share the gospel with family.  My brother-in-law's family is mostly Buddhist or nothing at all. Thanks for your prayers.

Update

Joshua is being discharged from the hospital today. He's looking forward to going home, but he still has a long road ahead. He will need six weeks of radiation, five times a week, and chemo over the course of a year. God has given much grace to his family thus far. I am praying for continued grace and strength for them as they go forward day by day. Thanks for praying.

I have friends whose 11-year-old son, Joshua, was diagnosed with a brain tumor last week. He had surgery on Tuesday. The diagnosis is medullablastoma, which is a malignant tumor of the brain stem. The tumor was the size of a Brazil nut. Due to the number blood vessels in the tumor, the surgery took 7 hours but it was reduced to maybe less than 1.5 cc. The parents are believers and so is their son. God has upheld them with much grace during this time, and they acknowledge their total dependence on Him. Their Thanksgiving Day is going to be spent in the hospital, but they are giving thanks with joy. If you feel so led, please pray for them. Thanks.

Prayer request

This is a prayer request for Tammy Osborn, Eddie Eddings ' daughter, who has been diagnosed with cancer. The details are posted here . From Eddie's post: To my friends and spiritual family who read this blog. This has all transpired in literally, a matter of days. My daughter was told that she may have had cancer for the last several years. She is trusting God for everything and she knows this is part of his plan for her life. And she wants to glorify Him and she needs your prayers to do that.
