Permission to come aboard

We had the privilege of touring the U.S.S. Enterprise this afternoon. It's massive: 12 levels above the flight deck and 7 below and longer than a football field.  We got a good bit of exercise climbing up and down the skinny stairs/ladders. Here are a few pics from the visit.

  1. *looks on with envy* There aren't really any ships to tour out here in NM. Come to think of it, there's not really any water out here either... :D

  2. There's an engineering firm in NJ that built a ship's bridge for testing purposes. You can see it rising out of a cornfield, so you can have at least part of a ship without water. :)

  5. Wow....! Amazing! If you ever come to England you must visit Portsmouth and see our historic dockyards...however, I'm not sure there's anything there quite as big as this! America truly does do everything bigger and better than the rest of us ;)
