Just rambling

I't s going to be another hot one today.  I was driving home last night and saw one sign that stated the temperature was 107 at 7 PM. Even Costco was practically deserted, which is unheard of on a Friday night.  I nearly melted getting gas in the heat.  Not very green of me, but a near empty gas tank trumps the ozone layer.

Every morning this week, I've noticed a little Eastern cottontail enjoying the weeds grass in the backyard. Today I was rewarded with this sight through the kitchen window.

I hope they stay safe.  There are red tails in the area as well as the roaming neighborhood cats and the occasional dog on the loose.

After 5 months, the practice manager and I agreed that my workload was more than even a full-time person could handle.  It would take 10-12 hours for a day's worth of dictation, which is more than I bargained for. Plus as independent as my daughter is with her schooling, I need to be there for her.  So I've dropped two of my doctors.  This will relieve a lot of the pressure, and I may actually have more of a life again. This week my hands have been more tired than usual, so I needed this change physically as well as emotionally.

However, I can see why the psalmist retells God's past mercies and keeps on repeating "Your steadfast love endures forever, " because it's very easy to shift confidence to material things. Last night my old anxieties raised their heads again, which required some prayerful battle and retelling my own Ebenezers.  God has been our faithful provider ever since the bottom dropped out 4 years ago, and even with this slight hit, we will be fine.  So as circumstances wax and wane, He doesn't change. He's faithful and good to those who don't deserve it, and everything, absolutely everything, comes from the hand of a loving Father.

  1. We are also experiencing the heat, (heat index was actually 118 the other day)But we are blessed with air conditioning (am trying to focus more on how God has blessed us.) Glad things have worked out with your job and encouraged as you talk about the faithfulness of God

  5. Yes, Persis!! We remind ourselves of His past mercies to give us the strength to press on. He is faithful and will never fail us. What a beautiful thing it is to proclaim this truth, my friend! Love and hugs!!
