Just rambling

Hope you don't mind me rambling on.

The house is on the market. So far 2 people have come to see the place but no offers. The brothers and sisters have been such a help. They've helped me pack up and hide the clutter, move boxes and furniture, put up window shades, and caulk flashing around the chimney in the cold. My best friend's family want to spend a Saturday doing some yard cleanup. I am very thankful for all the help and humbled by everyone's kindness. This has coincided with starting school again after a break for the holidays. It will take some creativity on our part to get school done when we only have 1 hour's notice to tidy the house and be gone. It has been a little stressful getting the house presentable every time we go out just in case someone calls for an appointment. I will admit that the house is much cleaner!

We thoroughly enjoyed the symphony concert on Friday night. We were high up in the balcony, but we had a great view of the soloist and the orchestra. It was very interesting to watch the different performers, particularly the percussion section in the last piece. My daughter loved the program of late 19th century-early 20th century romantic music.

I am almost half way through my medical transcription course. It is much harder than I anticipated. We are given a thorough overview of the body's systems, laboratory tests, operations, diseases, and lots of practice listening to doctors who mumble and stumble in their dictation. It has been a challenge to juggle this with homeschooling and working part-time, but so far by God's grace, I have an A average. I also have a greater appreciation for God as the creator. The intricacy of the human body is amazing. The inner workings and complexity all point to Someone much greater than random collisions of amino acids.

I realized today that we have been at our church for just a little over 2 years. It has seemed like we've always been there. I am still in awe of God's providential leading. The saints at Grace have been such a blessing to me and my daughter. God is knitting our hearts together especially through the ladies' Bible study and our small group. It has also been a blessing to receive sound expository teaching on a weekly basis. I am looking forward to what the Lord will do this year in the life of the church.

All in all, life is very hectic and often tiring right now. I don't know what is ahead, but I do want to hold on to what I know is constant:

Jesus Christ is the same, yesterday and today and forever. Hebrews 13:8

  1. You get an "A" for your ramblings.
Ramble more often...it's nice to read something that doesn't cause a charley horse in your brain.

  2. I agree with Eddie.

We went to the symphony this weekend, too--orchestra front, far right. I realize why the first two rows get such a huge discount. All that we could see were the violinists in front of us. But we were close enough to them to see their music.
