Thankful Thursday

Here's the list for this week:

I'm thankful for the time change even though I haven't adjusted yet.

I'm thankful for my mom's successful cataract surgery yesterday.  She called me afterwards excited to see colors and objects for the first time in a long time.

I'm thankful for a touch of tendonitis in my elbow.  This will keep me from overworking myself, so I consider this a blessing from the Lord.  Thankfully, a little ibuprofen and a pack of frozen vegetables is helping quite a bit.

I'm thankful for good discussions in the women's Bible study.  We finished chapter 9 in Transforming Grace by Jerry Bridges which deals with those gray areas in our lives that can become bones of contention and possibly impose on Christian liberty.  I appreciate that we don't necessarily see eye-to-eye all the time.  If we were Stepford women, there wouldn't be very much iron sharpening iron.

I'm thankful that I can rest in the sovereignty of God given my ex-husband's remarriage.  I'm thankful for the healing He has brought to my soul thus far, and I can trust Him to continue this process.  I'm also grateful my daughter doesn't want to take one side or the other.  She wants to be firmly planted on God's side, and I believe He will answer that pray.

  1. Persis, Thanks for sharing these, I love to read your gratitude list; it encourages me to praise our Heavenly Father.

And every time I hear of your daughter, I think on how much I'd love for her to be friend my daughter. They'd certainly be good friends!

Much love to you, and please take care of your elbow. :)

  3. I praise God for His sovereignty right along with you, Persis! There is so much comfort in the remembrance of it in all kinds of situations. I can never be reminded of it too often.

Hoping your elbow is already better than yesterday!
