Celebration

We celebrated my mom's 80th birthday yesterday.  There were about 80 family and friends crammed into my cousin's restaurant.  My mom knew something was planned and that some family were coming from out of town.  However, she expected a small get together.  She was completely surprised to find her 3 sisters and 1 brother-in-law and a whole host of friends waiting for her.  The food was delicious and plentiful, but the best part were the testimonies from family of the Lord's grace in my mother's life. 

Looking back, we can see God's hand of providence.  I am very thankful that she loves the Lord and has wanted her children and grandchildren to follow Him.  I'm also thankful for how God has used her in the lives of others.

We sang Great is Thy Faithfulness at the celebration, because God indeed has been faithful to her and our family.

Great is Thy faithfulness, O God my Father

There is no shadow of turning with Thee

Thou changest not, Thy compassions they fail not

As Thou hast been, Thou forever shalt be.

Morning by morning new mercies I see
